In 2021, my life changed in an instant when I was hospitalized for four months battling A-Typical COVID-19—a fight that led to the amputation of my right leg, nerve damage in both hands, and the loss of my kidney function. I went from being an independent, driven woman business owner to facing what felt like an insurmountable setback.


But I made a decision: I took what could have broken me and used it to rebuild something even stronger.


Through intense recovery, I rebuilt my strength, adjusted to life with a prosthetic, and reclaimed my confidence. What seemed like two completely different worlds—learning to walk again and leading with resilience in business—were actually the same.


Every challenge I faced in recovery required the same skills that companies and leaders need today:
